SCSI-2 Audio CD driver
Now play audio CDs with your SCSI-2 compliant disk drive!

Status
The current status of the project is the following:

  • The GS/OS SCSI-2 Audio CD driver is stable and considered as final,
  • The Media Control SCSI-2 Audio CD driver is stable and considered as final,
  • The CDSCSI2 as well,
  • No works on FST, CD Remote NDA have started.
We would like you to test the driver with your configuration through the CDSCSI2 test application and report any issues at the following Google Forms:

Note that the CDSCSI2 test application works with SCSI-2 devices only. It can collect some information from pre-SCSI-1 or SCSI-1 devices but it will not play any music. Why? Because you have the CD Remote NDA for that purpose.

Media Control SCSI-2 Audio CD Driver

Hello,

Antoine Vignau and Olivier Zardini, founders of Brutal Deluxe Software,
are proud to introduce the "SCSI-2 Audio CD" and "Media Control Audio CD" drivers to the Apple IIgs® community.
Based on Apple's SCSI CD driver, we have added the standard SCSI-2 audio commands.
Note that the driver already contained SCSI-2 commands to read data disks, 
they just did not include the audio commands (shame on Apple!)

The SourceCode folder contains the source code of CDSCSI2 test application.
It is written in Merlin 16 assembly.

Installation Manual

	1/ Double-click the "Installer" program.
	2/ Select your startup disk
	3/ Install the SCSI-2 Audio CD driver onto your boot disk.
		The following file is copied onto your startup disk:
			- System:Drivers:SCSICD.Driver
	4/ Install the Media Control SCSI-2 Audio CD driver onto your boot disk.
		The following files are copied onto your startup disk:
			- System:Drivers:SCSICD.Driver
			- System:Drivers:Media.Control:AppleSCSI2
	5/ Restart your computer.

Minimum System Requirements

	The program requires at least 16KB of free memory.
	It also requires a SCSI-2 compatible SCSI interface card.
	It has been tested on Apple IIgs ROM 01 & ROM 3 versions.
	It has been tested on the following CD-ROM disk drives:
		- Apple CD-SC,
		- Apple CD-150,
		- Apple CD-300,
		- Apple CD-300e Plus.
	It is compatible with System 5.x and above.
